The Distributed Computing Systems Lab

Department of Computer Science
University of Kentucky

The Distributed Computing Systems Lab in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Kentucky was established to study the research involved in the design and implementation of distributed operating systems, network protocols, and also distributed multimedia systems and active vison. The Three Views of the DCS Lab">lab consists of Sun, HP and DEC workstations, miscellaneous PCs, a three node ATM network (FORE Systems), and a wide range of cameras, mounts. and 3D visualization glasses.

Systems Seminar: Systems seminar is a weekly meeting of the Computer Science Department. Each meeting discusses a topic related to distributed systems or other applied areas of computer science such as multimedia systems. The meeting is open to anyone interested in systems related research.

The infrastructure and research at the Distributed Computing Systems Lab is supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Grant CDA-9502645 and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency under Grant DAAH04-96-1-0327.
